Junior music education major Adam Stephens practices his main instrument, the saxophone, in a music room in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at UMD on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Stephens follows a strict, self-implemented practice schedule that requires him to practice for at least two hours everyday to reach his goal of becoming a famous sax musician.

Stephens jumps on top of a dumpster behind Maryland's Fraternity Row one night out with his friends. When he's not practicing, Stephens finds time for the bars and parties on Route1, as he firmly believes college is not just about schoolwork, or the saxphone, but also about enjoying yourself.

Stephens gives driving directions to a friend over the phone on Saturday, November 21, 2009 to come the University View in College Park where he friends were throwing a party for his 21st birthday. Stephens always tries to include his diverse group of friends in all his party plans, giving him the reputation of being a genuinely nice guy among those close to him.
