Meredith Hall, a sophomore music major at the University of Maryland, practices oboe at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, like she does every day for several hours. Hall has been playing the oboe all her life.
Hall’s boyfriend, fellow sophomore and music major Adam Gallob, covers his eyes and shakes his head as Hall plays goofy for the camera. Gallob often feigns affectionate irritation with Hall’s antics.
Hall presses her face to the counter in the basement kitchen of LaPlata Hall, mouth open for a dropped glob of frosting. Hall and her friends often make use of this kitchen for their baking and cooking adventures.
