Nick's Radio Diary
I really like these radio diaries, and I was particularly drawn to Nick's radio diary because I love psychology. Throughout his radio diary, Nick deals with depression, development and social interaction, and it was just really fascinating to grow with him. Kids go through a lot of changes throughout junior high and high school, and it was interesting to get the point of view of someone who initially got an outside view (as a homeschooler) and then had to learn how to integrate himself into what he'd been seeing. Another wonderful thing about this diary is that little clips of Nick's music (he plays cello and there was some keyboard work at the beginning) are dispersed throughout. It's very coherent and on top of being interesting, I really connected with him. I was actually excited for him when good things happened. Nick's story had a beginning, a middle, and an end. I'm sure a part 2 would be neat, but within just this one radio diary, he told a complete, relatable and engaging story.
