I was driving back from Bethesda on Sunday night listening to WAMU, yes because of 203 I listen to public radio now, and this Big Broadcast program came up. I wasn't even paying attention at first, but then I noticed this very old fashion vernacular and old time suspenseful music blaring up at me. Apparently on Sunday nights starting at 7 WAMU plays old, classic broadcasts from the 30s, 40s, and 50s for four whole hours. The broadcast I listened to coming back was called "Johnny Dollar" and it was about this crime detective. I was listening to him solving this crime and women finding guns and screaming and this really dramatic "dun dun dun" music and I was getting so into it! I didn't want to get out of my car when I got home because I wanted to solve the mystery! I'm really going to try to listen to this broadcast every week, it's just so cool to hear these old broadcasts and amazing how into them I get.
I hope the link works! It wouldn't let me get the clip I wanted and upload it, so I just posted a link. If you go to it, scroll down the page, you can listen to the one I heard this past Sunday. Enjoy!
